Bought a D4D 83 something serial number. Bought corner bits and the supplier sent the wrong bits. He sent three hole and mine had six holes. They said that blade does not match the d4d serial number. He sent the right ones. How can you identify the blade? I want to get new caps on the lift cylinders if i can find a part # or can i machine the cap half and tighten it up some?
Top RH corner of the back side of the blade there should be a Serial Number. The tag will probably have long gone but the number ought to be stamped there. Take a good look at the hydraulic tank. Can you find a plate on it with a Serial Number.? If so then that S/N will cover the hydrulic system, lift cylinder, blade, & fittings. The Hydraulic Control uses a separate Parts Manual to the main one for the tractor. I suspect your D4D is an 83J-prefix machine, if you can confirm with a full Serial Number.
Pretty sure our D4D had six bolt corner tips on it's bull tilt blade. You will probably find the D4E used the same blade so looking at a D4E on SIS. Corner tips for a bull tilt blade for them are 5J6923 and 5J6924. It also lists 12 bolts required 3F5108. For the angle blade it lists only six bolts 3F0108 and the corner tips 5J6942 and 5J6941. Would I be right to guess you have a bull tilt blade but they gave you corner tips for the angle blade?
