D4g. Transmission slows when warm

Hi guys. Machine runs fine for an hour or so pushes great. Then it seems like something in the hystat goes into a limp mode or bypasses. Had this machine only a few months. Replaced all filters in the last 40 hours , Changed out the joystick ,left side speed sensor. As the machine would get stuck in low speed and the speed gauge would stop working that seemed to be corrected. But I’m at a loss here for the slowing after the trans temp hits 145 degrees. According to the gauge. Unless a sender is bad. Or a failing sensor. I’m working quite a ways from holt cat. They quoted 600 just for drive time. Not even to plug in. Ser#catood4gctlxoo802

No warning lights of any kind. All lights light up when the key turns on and go out within 3 seconds of firing

Well if you want an alternative to plugging ET into the machine, how handy are you with a 6"-long piece of automotive wire..? There is a procedure to identify Diagnostic Codes. If you like I could send it to you. Also if you have a temperature gun you could shoot the temperature of some of the Hystat components. To me 145 degrees (65 C) is 2only just warmed up". In fact a lot of machine electronics have a "cold protection mode" that won't allow full machine performance until the temp goes past 65C. What you appear to have is the opposite. Think about it this way, normal coolant temperature is 85-90C (180-190F).

Does the Power Train Control Warning Light #5 come on when the machine is misbehaving..?

Thank you Nige. No power train light on except at start up for a couple seconds. Just ran the dozer all day. No issues. But only light pushing and finish grade. Seems like a heat sensor or something to do with heat is what’s causing it. Today was a cold day. Even heavy pushing the temp only rises 20 degrees on the trans to 150 degrees layed a hand on the filters immediately after running. They don’t feel very hot to the touch

I'll send you the instructions of how to pull Diagnostic Codes from the machine. It might be worthwhile to practice the procedure for some point in the future when you really need it.
