D5C dozer

Does anyone here know how to put a D5C dozer back in time? If so is there any way you could explain how to do it.. my father has been trying to fix his dozer and is having a hard time getting it back to working. He had a stroke several years ago and that just makes everything that much worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    There are lots of D5C models. Can you post a Serial Number so that either someone can look up the information or maybe tell you straight off the answer to your question. Also when you speak about timing are you referring to the camshaft/valve timing or to the timing of the fuel injection pump.?

    OK so there are 2 possibilities of injection pump, in-line or distributor type. I have included instructions for both, also the procedure for finding TD C on #1 cylinder and timing the front gear group. Worst case scenario the front cover will have to come off and start the timing procedure from first principles.
