I am getting mixed messages from my dealer but does a 2017 D5K dozer regen only after shut down or does it also regen on the go?We have no indicator that it does regen when we are working the machine.

As far as I know it will regen automatically during machine operation, or you can do a manual regen. Hopefully one of the Tier 4 experts will pass by shortly and confirm that. Are there any Active Diagnostic Codes present in the Monitor System.?
Can’t force a regen on this machine without cat ET. As a general rule, these systems are very robust and reliable as they do not dose fuel into the exhaust and do not use an ignition device (ARD head) to initiate the regen cycle. The only exception to this is the DEF system which can be finicky as they all can be with sensors and such. If there is an issue, the engine warning lamp and regen fault will illuminate letting you know there is a fault with the system, at that time cat ET will be required to diagnose and repair. As long as there are no warning lamps, it should be assumed that the machine is functioning properly. You should be able to access the service screen on the monitor to check out any codes it would have. Also as a note, the DPF filter will last the life of the engine as long as it doesn’t get damaged in the meantime. No periodic service cleaning is required.
