Was wanting to know if the track speed is the same forward and reverse in 1st gear, etc. or does the reverse seem a bit faster. I have a 48a model d7e, and I think the ground speed is less in forward. I assume it would not be reduced under any wear circumstances, as it pushes well. was raking cedar and it really does well in second gear but sometimes have to go slow thru the trees. rick
All the Cat dozers I have operated are faster in reverse by a small margain.
Almost all dozers, regardless of make have faster reverse speeds (I think the same applies to wheel loaders and other equipment)
I agree. I think it's because you do your work in forward and backup to get back to your work.
