Has anyone retro fitted an older flat track machine like a D7G with newer style lower rollers from a D7H or R? My 7G has pretty worn UC as a whole and Ive got a 2-4 single flange rollers that has to be changed to get all usable life from rest of UC. I feel like putting 2-4 new aftermarket rollers on worn out UC is pointless and used parts for this particular machine is hard to find. Ive been talking with Cat used parts guy, that has several half life 7H and 7R lower rollers in stock. The rollers are shaft style with retainer caps unlike the older collar style rollers that my machine runs but we both feel like they should work. Any input on this?
Depends how worn your rollers but the usual answer is take the 3and 4 roller out and swap them with the end rollers. Bad Bob
Makes sense. Basically no different than rotating truck tires, just a bit more work haha.
