2014 Deere 160G LC recently started shutting down while operating(without warning) when it first started to happen we were able to just function the key and it would fire right up again, after starting it 4-5 times in attempt to troubleshoot it shutdown again and now won’t start back up. No codes and it seemed to run fine until it shut down expect the odd time the rpm would increase 150-200 rpm automatically for a couple seconds then return to normal rpm. Traced fuel lines and changed fuel filters, no change! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
What tier engine model do you have? I would go in to the service menu and recheck for codes. If no codes were found you can check the fuel pressure and engine speed in monitoring menu that may help give you an idea what’s going on. Engine crank speed should be at least 200rpm. If you don’t have fuel rail pressure you may have an issue with that scv on your fuel pump.
Thanks, It’s a tier 3 engine, rechecked for codes and still nothing. Just trying to get it running at this point! Upon more troubleshooting and found a fuel line going to the pump that was wet, so thinking there’s a hole in that line somewhere also when using the primer ball on the fuel filter it’s seems to not function properly, when pushing until the primer is hard and let go I can hear the fuel running back to the fuel tank and the ball is soft with in seconds again.
Yeah it sounds like your in the right spot. If you have a looses hose or a crack in the pickup line you may be drawing air and losing the fuel prime. See if you can cut the Damaged hose back and clamp it. If you still loses the prime you may need just to replace the hose. You may want to install a low pressure pickup pump While replacing the hose but isn’t necessary.
