I just purchased a 2017 John Deere 35G with hydraulic thumb. The rocker switch on the right joystick operates backwards from previous machines I have used. On the Deere 35G the thumb closes when the switch is rocked to the right and the thumb opens when the switch is rocked to the left. Is there a way to reverse this switch?
At the thumb cylinder, swap the two hydraulic hoses (pressure lines reverse direction). Takes 5 minutes, thumb now operates opposite direction. But If you ever use aux on other attachments, they'll also be reversed. In that case you should reverse switch wiring (permanent fix for thumb only). Access joystick wiring harness (remove console cover/panel). Locate thumb rocker switch connector and swap the two signal wires to solenoid valve. Thumb reverses, other aux attachments unaffected if you swap lines back.
