Here's a video I recently did of a 1991 Mannesmann DEMAG H185S Backhoe/ME loading Cat 777B's. My one friend runs this machine so I try to make a monthly visit to go down and see him. This DEMAG is electronic over hydraulic control, unlike most large Demag's which were hydraulic over hydraulic. It was bought brand new from Germany in 91' and 19 years later, she's still moving rock. Goes to show you how excellent these Demag’s were and why companies over here in anthracite swear by them. The company who owns this machine bought the very last two hydraulic units from Komatsu Mining available for an 185S. Demag h185s Hi Justin, Seems a long time ago when i used to maintain several of these Demag H185S Machines whilst living in the UK, always was a good hard working machine. I agree since Komatsu takeover parts and units are getting more difficult to find, however inform your friend that i have a complete H185S Face Shovel available for parts and units ( including full back hoe equipment) working machine and all units are in first class order, 70% good undercarriage components.
