Hi Mr. Eng, I’m Eng. Bashar from Jordan. I’ve seen your posts and really appreciate the technical information you share — thank you for that! I’d like to ask about the different types of transmissions used in heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, and skid steers . What’s the difference between Full Power Shift, Auto Shift, Power Shuttle, synchro shuttle and Manual transmissions in terms of operation, performance, and fuel efficiency? Also, I’d like to know: Which of these types are considered automatic and which are manual ? And which ones have a clutch pedal , and which operate without a clutch (hydraulic or electronic shifting)? Thanks a lot for your support, Mr. Eng. Hope you’re doing well! Quote Reply Report

Welcome to the Forums Bashar! Glad to have you. Unfortunately I'm not a mechanic so I can't explain the differences, we just run the machines. Other members on the Forum have vast knowledge of the differences so maybe they'll chime in.
