Had a few problems when the ice went out on the rivers this spring. The excavator is sitting where the railroad is suppose to be. :beatsme
Couple more Another location, same story.
What sort of Grab is that in the 1st pic of the second post? Awesome pics:thumbsup
Kind of looks like a small shear? Nice pictures. Shane
What kind of setup do you have in pic 1 of post 1? I used to work for a RR contractor, we always straddled the rail and tracked in.But that looks interesting
It's called a Hytracker, it's coupled to the machine and travels using the hydraulics. http://www.hytracker.com/
2nd pic looks almost like the excavator's riding a skateboard ahah!
It's a log grapple made by PSM I believe.
Wow, looks pretty awesome. Why do they use log grabs for picking up ice as I thought a demo / rock grab would be better?
Wow!
Does that ice damage the tracks at all?
We use that grapple to handle railroad ties, rail and other material. That's what that excavator was doing when this happened. They switched to a regular bucket and thumb later in the day. Sometimes it does tear it up. This time it just shoved it off the roadbed. We were able to save it all and pull it back up on the roadbed.
