I'm new to any sort of equipment having just purchased a 2008 Bobcat 335g Mini Excavator. This may be painfully obvious to the experienced operator, but what exactly is a direct to tank valve used for? I'm assuming its common knowlege since i cant seem to find an answer online.
Typically it is used for implements that don’t require reverse flow such as rock breakers or the like. The oil is returned direct to hydraulic tank rather then through a spool valve. This reduces back pressure. Without knowing the specifics if your machine there will be a tap or diverter valve on the return line near the spool valves.
Thanks Cliffy, that makes perfect sense.
