Could high coolant temp possibly be related to a blocked DPF.? See attachment for DPF. 358-3711 is the Group Part Number. How many hours on the machine.?

    what is the exact code?

E997 is the exact code. I took it to jmac to have him bake it out and when i put it all back together i was still getting the same reading. i even changed out the thermostat on it and im still getting the same codes. E361 is the other code.

E997 is from DPF clock, which, on that machine is 5k hours. Dealer level Cat ET is required to reset the clock. The reset clock gets different hour alert based on what was done to DPF, new, cleaned, or exchanged. You didn't answer how many hours, but, I'm guessing 5k on machine.

    10550 hours

so will that code effect my machines performance if we just send it out or will it be a good idea to reset the code first before sending it out? logically i know the answer but when it comes to a company i work for it always depends on the owner.

336E @ 5k hours...replace DPF? Got an active event and discussion with my trusted Caterpillar tech lends me to believe that the DPF needs to be exchanged. I'm curious as to whether anyone here has simply done the "ash service regeneration" and not changed the DPF. Is it worth the gamble? Soot loading and regeneration dont... HeavyEquipmentForums
