DRESSER GALION A606, IH DT 466, setting timing

Yes, this is the same Dresser GALION that I installed the injection pump. This new thread concerns the injection timing spec and how to set it. I have no info about GALION 606 WITH iH dt466 engine. What is the correct timing value? To set, do I rotate crank to the proper value, (it's still on TDC #1 compression) then loosen the bolts on pump gear and rotate the gear to line up mark with pointer? I should also ask your recommendation on starting this machine. The filters, fuel and separater, have been changed. Filters installed full of fuel. I'm trying to avoid the hassle with air in system. What other startup steps do you suggest? Thank you again for your help
