We request a service from a cat dealer for a c27 engine install in a dzh 6000 horizontal grinder. The problem is that the engine is not working well. The mecanic check the injectors and is no problem so me start the machine until the miss fire start and the computer don't show wich of the injectors are bad. Is a way to know wich one are the bad.

    1. start engine, bring up to operating temp. 2. start loosening the line, that goes to each injector, in turn. (one at a time). If you find an injector that when loosened, does not affect the speed reading of the engine, as much as the others, there's your bad injector. 3. You can double check, by removing the suspect bad injector, and putting a good one from another cyl, in its place, and putting the suspect injector, in the position, of the borrowed cyl. If the problem follows the the injector, then you have confirmed that you have a bad injector, and know where it is. If the problem remains, where it was, it is something else...

Dave, you can't do that on a C27, it has a common rail fuel system. Cat ET has a cylinder cutout test which ought to show up any bad injectors. It's also worthwhile to pull the valve covers and physically inspect the injectors. It's not unusual to find one with a broken spring.
