Hi, Came across this product recently. It will reduce blowby and stop smoke and increase fuel efficiency. Has anyone used this product or can shed some light on it. http://www.xado.com.au/catalogue/revitalizant/diesel-engine/xado-revitalizant-gel-for-diesel-engines Thanks.

aussie-farmer, you would be much better served to find the source of your problem and repair it rather than delaying the inevitable by "thickening" the oil thru the use of this "gel". I read the claims made by the manufacturer of this product and they simply do not pass the honesty and integrity test. No product in a bottle can or ever has "revitalized" a worn out internal combustion engine or was able to repair an it simply by dumping it in the oil. They can "mask" some problems for a very short time but the problem will still exist. I have not used this particular product or seen it in use but I have seen a few others that I am sure were similar tried by various customers. My suggestion is to use a good oil that meets the manufacturers specifications and change it at the proper intervals and you will receive the maximum mechanical life from your properly maintained engine. Don't waste your money on "revitalization gel" friend because it simply cannot deliver on the claims it makes.

I think baking soda in the air intake will seat the rings but they may crack too!!

Kinda reminds me of using ATF in the fuel or oil. Makes the seals all start to swell, but they never stop. Runs great for a bit then they just wear till there is nothing left of them.

Morning, Thanks for the feedback. I have at truck thats got low than expected power, excessive blow by etc. I always anticipated a engine rebild at some point when oil consumption etc reaches a high level etc etc. In searching for my rebuild kit I came across this product and also a friend knew a guy who had used it and said it worked on the blow by and reduced engine noise. Maybe it was th "Placebo' effect and just made him feel good that he had done something. I can recognise the masking effect for sure and think that is the best analagy at this point. As for all our machinery my motto is "Oil is cheaper than bearings and servicing is cheaper than a breakdown". Mind you servicing on our Case MXU 110 just cost $700 ( Oils filters etc ) but is cheaper than a neighbour who spent $9000 on his tractor front axle after never ever checking its oil in 5500hours ! Its amazing the stories of additives to engines and gearboxs, even heard a guy using Bannana peel in his gearbox to quieten it down. Can imagine the oil in that. Any other weird and wonderful wives tales, unusual additives you have heard of add to the list, see whats about !1 Cheers.

Land Rover holds the worlds record on travel with 'foreign' lubricant. over 700 miles on bannana oil after puncturing the oil pan. (africa) also altitude record and a couple others.

We used banana peel in a noisey diff once to get a car through a rally. The diff was so hot that when we were poking the peel into the diff through the filler hole, the diff oil started frying the peel. The service area smelled of baked bananas for a while after that! (better than the smell of diff oil). Believe it or not, the peels did work for a while and the car finished the rally. We never pulled the diff apart to find out what had gone wrong inside, just threw into the scrap metal bin and put a new diff in.
