Last week I spotted one of these on a highway job working a rock fill. The undercarriage and tractor in general looked in really decent shape for the year of it.How would it compare in size to a D9G? It had a semi-u tilt rock blade the looked about sixteen feet wide.Wish I had some pictures to post of it,that thing was impressive.
The later FD40 has 455 fwhp it is a lot bigger and heavier than the d9g and d9h cats but not as big as a d10n cat they are very tough dozers that were and still are used in coal mines, strip mines you can still get all the parts for one at fiat-allis of north america located in Carol Stream IL.
