Oil pressure lights comes on with alarm and prevents me from starting when I put the key in. Any ideas what must be wrong. Checked oil and filters.
Does the engine rotate but not fire? Or does nothing at all happen when you turn the key start? The more information the better.
From the manual ENGINE EMERGENCY STOP If the engine oil pressure drops while the engine is running, the engine oil pressure switch is actuated and sends a signal to monitor (terminal 10) and MC (terminal B3). The engine oil low pressure indicator light on monitor and buzzer will turn on. The MC operates (through the terminal A17) the engine stop relay (R18) that, in turn, de-energizes the Synchro-Start solenoid and therefore the engine will stop for lack of fuel supply. NOTE - With Alternator indicator light and engine oil low pressure indicator light turned ON, the Main Controller (MC) will not operate the engine stop relay (R18) and therefore the engine stop will not happen.
Thanks. I got down a mechanic and was informed its the synchro start solenoid which is faulty and am waiting for the part now.
