Finding year with SN Caterpillar excavator

Hi guys, Is there a tool to find excavator model year with a SN? just wondering ! Thanks

    Good evening, we recently purchased a 2000 345B L. Our owner wants to add control pattern switch either manual or electrical. Cat wants 2500.00 for the valve. Does anyone on here know of aftermarket valves manual or electrical. Thanks a million JDE
