Fork Attachment failure

wildhorse trnr ยท 2010-02-16 22:07

Has anyone had any problems with ACS forks breaking the lower pins and bushing mounts? It appears that the cylinder is stressing the mounts and causing flexing then stress cracks/breaks. It has been repaired 3 times and still breaks after a few months, abuse is not an issue, I am at the plant regularly and the unit is used for removing aluminum strips, the grapple closes overthe aluminum strips, so no excessive stress from the clamping motion. Also, the pressures are correct per ACS. Any ideas? The forks are on an L110F Volvo

Made the fork frame repairs and put the unit back into service, would really like to get some input on possible reasons for the failure. I think the unit was not designed well enough for the application, however, ACS says it is exactly what is needed.

Photos of the failure would be helpful and a little more interesting to people here. Just a thought.
