The fuel gage on my loader (JD544A 1973) indicate always "full", maybe the gage is good so I want to check the ground, does anyone know if the ground wire is located on the top of the fuel tank or elsewhere?
The sending unit is probably grounded out if it is reading full. Without a ground the gauge would read empty. Start by running the wire from gauge to sending unit and check for grounding. If there is none pull the sending unit. The sending unit is probably rusted out. You can replace it with a universal unit.
My first guess would be that the wire is grounded somwhere between sending uniot and guage.
Thank you guys, I'll start by running the wire!
