my tractor uses the 7T-2036, but not only the cap is damaged , but the part where the cap screw in is also damaged. both parts are light aloy metal. Thanks , as last resort... As above , 7T-2036 But any system will do , as long as i can find the part number for the neck part thanks gents
Here's the parts list for your tank assembly, but if you are talking about the neck with the screw thread on it where the cap locates then it is part of the fuel tank and not sold separately.
This illustration of the tank cap and fittings may be clearer.
Well, looks like i got to source it elsewhere. A Cap wont help me no good, as both parts are junk . Thanks everyone for your help figuring this out.
If you take some measurements of the filler neck material you may find that it corresponds to a standard diameter and wall thickness of pipe. If that is the case and you can track down the material any good machine shop should be able to thread it for you. After that it’s simply a matter of cutting off the old neck and welding the new one in place.
On my old Mack truck tanks, I shaved the first 3 or 4 threads off to allow the screw on cap to actually thrrad on. The threads get quite worn after 30 years of fueling.
Not shaved, but rather, cut off 3/16" or so.
What raises my eye brow , is in this outset the cap treads on a fixture of light alloy , and not directly to fuel neck, its like it has an extention made out of light alloy ... and one can see its CAT genuine. How this fellas made it part of the tank i really like to know... I do not have threads to shave off...
