Funny repair job on a 966 drop box case – A for effort

We got this case in from a local customer of ours. Apparently after multiple attempts at welding and lots of bondo they still couldn't get it to stop leaking. I hope everyone gets as much amusement out of this as we did... as well as an opportunity to see some of our tax dollars at work! :usa

Maybe...that's the sign from the sign post that the operator ran over and busted the bottom of the case. LoL, might as well patch the hole in the case...with the sign! :lmao

Unfortunately, they resorted to the plate after they had attempted to fix it multiple times using several different methods. The initial damage was a small crack from hitting a rock, but failed welding attempts caused the cracks to spread. They ended up taking a case from our stock because they never could completely stop the leak. The sad part is, if they would have gotten an experienced cast iron person in the first place they could have had it fixed it in the machine in a few hours and wouldn't have had so much down time and wouldn't have had to pull the trans. :beatsme
