I took the hoses off the leveling cylinder and if you move the switch ether way fluid comes out of both hoses .
Well put the hoses back on! Why you take them off?
Which, it will. With both hoses disconnected and open, and you hit the switch, either way, one is delivering oil from the valve, squirt, the other is now connected to tank return circuit, which is under some pressure as well, just less, still, squirt. Fair question, why you take them off?
The leveling will not work. I do under stand that this could happen i could always tell what line had presser and what one didnt on other stuff. I need to put a gauge on it and see what is happening. I can hear the electric valve click when i try it.
Nope, don't need a pressure gauge. You need to disconnect the lines that connect the solenoid valve to the lower leveling master cylinder, plug and cap those disconnect lines and cylinder fittings. Cycle the boom up and down, if the platform doesn't level while cycling you have a failed piston seal in either the leveling master cylinder of the leveling slave cylinder.
Were is the master cylinder? It never has leveled its self the best. The last time i had to take it up about as high as it would go i had to level it a little at the top and half way back down.
The leveling master cylinder is at the base of the main boom just forward of the main boom pivot attachment point to the machine on the underside of the boom.
Thanks after i ask i thought it would need to be around there. Its about 5 miles from me but i cant leave the farm on week ends to look at it i will go some time monday and look at it . The platform is level wright now and they dont have to go up very high so maybe they can use it the way it is. This rig is not in good shape and every time it sets around it has a problem and its been setting over a year. I wish the owners could get this through there heads and have some one check it out before they need it. Every time they have a problem they say they are getting rid of it but they said that the week they got it years ago.
Do you have a jib ? Or just a standard straight boom ? Does the basket auto level when boom raises and lowers ? Both ground and basket controls do not make the basket move when activated ? Does the basket function when using emergency power from ground controls ?
Its a straight boom it dosent auto level, nether basket or ground control will make the basket move. It will not move with electric pump. Every thing else works. I dont know how good the leveling worked when new but it hasnt worked 100% from day one you would need to level it some from time to time but i never used it i just work on it. I havnt been buy to look at it yet .
I would swap hoses with turntable rotate and see if problem follows to a new circuit or problem stays with cylinder. That really is the quickest fastest way to narrow it down with out spending diagnostic time. If it stays with the circuit you can isolate it to the primary manifold. If not well most likely cylinder or counter balance valves. Thats usually the first thing I do when trouble shooting issues like this. A few minutes and two wrenches and you can hone in your problem pretty quickly.
