2012 Genie S-60x 4x4 Serial - S60x12-024105 All functions work from the ground. You can drive it from the basket and turn the wheels, you can raise the boom but not lower it from the basket. It will extent out a little ways and stop. The left joy stick was replaced due to a torn boot and water penetration. The red light is on showing a fault and a couple of green lights are flashing erratically. 1 looks like a 17 code and the other flashes so fast I can't tell but I think it is 19. I have not found any wiring issues, thinking it is a mother board issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Go to genies website and download the manual for free. See what the codes are first.
Check every limit switch you can find and make sure one isnt stuck.
If the boom extends then stops you most likely have a limit switch issue as vetch said. How ever if the joy stick does not allow you to lower the boom from the basket but has the other functions that go with the stick try to recalibrate the joy stick first. If that does fix the issue you will need to get the schematic and your meter out. Make sure the signal out that is activated when the down stroke is asked to command is being send out and down to the board. Through. The board and down the line. Did the down function suddenly stop working ? These are hall effect joy sticks so they sometimes need to be recalibrated. You can also try setting your speeds again after performing the joy stick calibration. Both very easy to do and are always the first steps I do when I have a joy stick issue.
Just made it back to the machine. Best I can determine it is flashing a 17 code, which is saying calibration. It will not beep to indicate recalibration for in or out. However it will for the left and right function. It will go up but not down. And it will not telescope in or out. Replaced the joystick due to a busted boot and possible water contamination. Any thoughts on how to proceed.
I've never done it before, but is there a procedure to calibrate in the manual?
Open up the control box. Power up platform controls. Unplug the joy stick. Wait for the beep. Plug it right back in. Move forward Hold to the count of 8. Let go wait for beep. Move it to the rear. Hold 8 count release wait for. Beep..repeat for left and right and same for rocker if you have a rocker on your stick. Do your front back and side to side then left rocker right rocker. You have to them all during that calibration cycle. Once you get the beep for all axis power down with e stop. Power back up and test. If you don't go just right it will time out on you during calibration. A steady 8 count works pretty good for me..
Forgot to add that if during the calibration say your holding the joy stick front and it beeps before you get to 8 and return the joy stick to neutral. You have to power down. Power up. Unplug the stick and then plug it back in and start the calibration cycle over. If it does that you need to do it a little quicker than holding it for 8 specs. Sometimes you might need to hold for a 5er if it keeps timing out on you. Once you calibrate the stick you can go in and tune your speeds to your liking
