I have a 2000 s85 man lift that wont go into high speed. have verified the solonids function by switching the brake and 2 speed sol places and still the same. Anyone have any ideas where to look next. Thanks in advance, Josh.
This was the time Genie introduced a new control system to the S85. There will be a vast difference in the troubleshooting between the older and newer version. Do you have a serial number?
Serial # is s80 2031. I think the issue is in the 2 speed manifold but am unsure how to test it... thanks again.
2031 has the Anti-Stall Board in the Upper Control Box 2 tests before we start the real troubleshooting. and these are TEMPORARY tests. First: With the unit in the STOWED position, remove the ORANGE wire from Terminal 6 of the Anti-Stall Board. This is the wire that puts the machine into low drive when the boom is elevated or extended. Drive the machine. If the machine drives at a high drive speed then you have a Limit Switch problem. DO NOT operate this machine wired like this other than to conduct this test as outlined in this paragraph. If the machine is driven in high drive in the elevated position, DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY will be the result. If the machine still will not drive at high speed on to step 2. Second: Remove the RED wire from Terminal 10 of the Anti-Stall Board and place it with the WHITE wires at Terminal 1. This will bypass the Anti-Stall Board altogether. Drive the machine. If the machine drives at a high drive speed then you have an Anti-Stall Board problem. DO NOT operate this machine wired like this other than to conduct this test as outlined in this paragraph. If the machine is driven in high drive in the elevated position, DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY will be the result. Let us know the outcome of this test and we can proceed with the technical stuff.
Will be tomorrow before I can get back to the machine.. will try these test and let you know... thanks again.
Would like to give an update and thank you.. after using the test provided I found a shorted wire at the boom extension limit switch. repaired and all is well now. Thank you again.
