Old GMC is still coming along, winter had me all but locked down on it. Decided to get the grain sides done so can get them out of the way. Still have to rebuild the grain gate, WAPAS so it will function but getting there. I snagged the WAPAS from a marina I used to frequent, their service boats were old and worn slick, barely float or run, they were known as WAPAS 1,2,3 &4 I believe they are at numbers 8-10 now. (What A Piece A ****.) Is reportedly a 1962 Crysteel bed by hoist S/N
Not a bad TO20 overhaul. Farm store $45/gallon enamel
I love it ! Nice work Bro .
Looks better installed, next up grain gate.
Well went a little smoother than figured. Said to hell with the cobbled crap feeder door guides and built new then unbowed the main sliding gate, cut loose the operating handle got the arms back into time so goes up square and smooth, straightened all that mess while also restored the snap over of the linkage to keep the gate closed. A little black paint and all good for a reinstall.
After it for about hour and a half this morning, made two new & tied down all the side J-bolts, installed all the rear panels and new cross bolt, had to make up one handle nut and all four upper corner connection bolts yesterday paint was dry today, set the spreader and rehung the cross chains(for now) put it back outside. Watered some new trees and wife's garden plots then got cleaned up as we are doing a store run shortly, just a quick day. Not sand or clover seed tight but not gonna try to go there.
