Doing some preventative care on my old dozer and need to replace the resistor coils that go to the glo plugs. My Komatsu dealer says no such part exists? :Banghead Anyone know something that might work? TIA!
I have used a bit of Stainless Steel welding rod in the past, the resistor wire can be removed from the holder in the dash its not Rocket stuff, Komatsu used these resistors on loads of the kit, I think I still have a new resistor for a D50S in 1 of my bins. tctractors
Tony,as usual, has the best idea but you can buy high wattage wire wound resistors from the surplus electronics vendors if you know the resistance value that you are looking for.No need to worry about inductive reactance here as you are only dealing with direct current.Ron G
