ok so its been along time since ive posted on here, I amlost lost the faith! after a year and a half i got into the seat finnaly! a few different seats to be honest.. i cant show you but i was an Aircraft Deicer here in winnipeg. the first time getting my grade on! was working for my town on ripping down spill piles in a farm field after a ditch was dig through it. my first time in a JD. i must say i had the time of my life. ended up cutting a feild rat's head clean off and later found it while out checking grade.
track loader time ive started to turn into a little burnout :drinkup :notworthy i owe that man alot for his advice and random pictures and stories. :salute i run this machine for the town just down the highway. it is the land fill machine but its a blast to be able to do this and have this oppertunity at my age. these pics are from the first day with it. it is really dirty it has been cleaned since then but after all it is pushing garbadge and we spread a nice sludge that comes from the water plant it hardens like rock and makes a hell of a mess!
What kind landfill are you running that loader in? Seems to be missing some important bits for working most landfills; striker bars for the tracks and trash rack for the bucket. Never seen a hi-lift working a land fill without atleast those bits. Most have a bucket linkage guard and holes cut in the pads too. The best are the 963 with waste grapples, they can almost lift as much as they can push. Anyway, good luck with your job. If I was running a track loader in a landfill all day, i wouldn't have sleeping problems right now. I'd be too excited during the day and wore out at night. Unless hamm opens a night shift at the landfill, then i'd be right back where i started:lmao
this machine is just ran in a rual manisupality land fill, it is the waste handler model but this is what i have been given to make do with. we are going to be aquiring a new machine soon. i have seen and read about the things youve mentioned its not that hard core of a dump to be needing them. see picture
Looks to be mostly C&D stuff, right? It's a little hard to tell with the snow on the ground. The machine looked real nice for a landfill tractor and it was missing the aforementioned bits, so i was bit curious as to what you were running in. Like you said, most of that stuff isn't needed, but big track pad holes would keep snow from packing the chain. :drinkup
when this machine is replaced im gona see about what the options are for the extras after all i can only put it on my wish list its up to the town what to buy. as for the snow in the chain im with you cause i had to clean that crap latter! but it was snowing at the time its that nice packing snow so it makes a nice job for later most of it just ends up melting off (its parked in the shop over night) we will soon be using the new pit so i expect alot more soil will be used. the garbadge is mostly household items, with the odd tv or car seats. some time we have local contractors come in but thats all. we also have other areas burn pit, oil, ect..
You very rarely see a newer track loader with triple grousers like that one does, Iprefer singles or doubles.
