Help kobelco stepper motor

Started the machine today after sitting for about 4 days. Let it warm up and jumped in to throttle it up and it would hardly come up off idle. So I turn the key off to check under the hood and it won't shut off. I finally get it shut off and undo the throttle linkage and nothings sticking. I get a friend to turn the key on and move the throttle. It moves and twitches about an 1/8 inch and sounds funny like it's stripped. But feels solid. Anyways dropped pans and looked at wireing harnesses. Everything looked ok. Not sure how to check the diffrent components. :beatsme

Well, took stepper moter off today. Everything looked fine. Limit switch inside was working. Found a used one out of a sk 400. Put it on and did the "A" adjustment. Adjustment went good set stop, then hit button to cut power to stepper, moved stepper to wide open throttle. Hit button and it stayed there at wot.Went to finish adjustment flipped the decel switch off, started machine it idled like it should. Held button till CPU displayed.it is supposed to move up to wot slowly in 2-3 mins. It just sat idleing for ten minutes. Pushed button again till CPU showed. Waited nothing. I am getting frustrated. Could it be something in the CPU ?

hi, before you attempted A adj have you run the engine throttle manually to be sure you are getting more engine revs than the hi-idle spec ? is the engine rpm sensor readout in range. ac volts ? is it possible when you moved the stepper mtr to the high stop that it tripped the limit switch ? normally when you hit the button after moving it to the high, the stepper mtr should then move to the low and then start position ? the problem could be missed dotting i's and crossing t's in the a adj procedure. sometimes you just cannot take shortcuts...not saying you are. we have had tempermental units too. cheers! adam

Thanks for all your help mr kobelco. I finally got the new computer in and it runs incredible. I think this new computer has differrent programming in it because everything is so much quicker. The "A" adjustment went just like in the manual. I guess there must be a Stepped motor driver chip that is burned in my old computer. I was surprised how simple and tough the design of the stepper motor is when I took it totally apart. Quentin

Hate to sound stupid but im having problems with our throttle on our sk210. What is the A adjustment and how do you do it?

"A" adjustment is training the main computer to recongnize the travel of the stepper motor that controls the throttle bell crank on the fuel injection pump. It is a simple procedure that it in your service manual.

not on a 210 that is a different system.
