One of my dump box cylinders is gushing fluid at the second seal. How would I go about identifying the correct seal to purchase? This dump box is mounted on a 1950’s IHI R210 tandem axle.
Cool truck You would have v packing or chevron packing in those cylinders you could try to snug the bolts on the gland ring a bit that would squeeze the packing and make it tighter to the ram but if its gushing its probably to far gone You would have to dissemble and get one of those cheap calipers to match up measurements https://herculesus.com/product.php?name=Vee Packing Sets&cat=15538 https://www.goodyearrubberproducts....d_Sealing/files/assets/downloads/page0175.pdf
Ah perfect, thanks.
Looks like a cool clean up operation. Lived in T. Bay for 7 years. Was a pretty good place. Living out west now. There was a lot of contractors in that area. Just moved back out west 2 years ago, was in Marathon Ont. before moving out. Bit more work in this end of land. Lots of acreages in your end also. All best in getting cylinder repaired. Simon C
That truck looks in amazing condition for it's age!
