historical semi truck registration

dzlnut ยท 2015-09-08 14:19

hey guys Im looking at buying a 1960s or 1970s KW or Pete and want to register it as a historical vehicle. Are any of you guys running historical plates? Do you have any issues hauling your personal property? ( I want to use it to haul a rock crawler, my tractor, firewood etc)

I thought about geting them on my Jeep but here you are limited to what you can do but after the first year i can see that it would work. All my trucks are old and could run them but i dont want to use them on a money makeing rig. If it was just used for fun or my own use i would run them. If you run them please dont mistreat them and run it for others.

Here running historical plates limit you to driving them on Sundays and to "special events" such as shows, etc. Lots of the guys haul there old iron to the shows with a historic truck. They seem to get left along as long as a show in going in the area. Most run "not for hire" lettering on them.
