I have a 1986 hitachi ex60 excavator..I am needing new hydraulic pump parts just the guts for it..its a Uchida Hydromatik pump!!...something affordable..all i see on the innerweb is china parts and a weird phone number to call and no prices and kinda skeptical about givin my money to someone across the water there!!..any help appreciated!.. PS. Im gonna try to replace everything in the pump ...John Deere dealership says they still dont know why it has case pressure been there a month now so i guess replace it all and maybe that will fix it!!..thanks!
*Most* of the Uchida Hydromatik units are made in Japan under license from Rexroth thus the "Hydromatik", most of the parts can be had through a reputable Rexroth dealer, but NOT cheap. My suggestion is Western hydrostatics, good people, good service, they're in California. I dislike the shotgun approach, if you can't diagnose the problem, how do you know throwing money at it will even fix it? It ain't rocket science, if you have high case pressure you either have an excessive bypass somewhere on the pressure side, or restricted case drain line. Your Deere dealer's people are obviously over their heads, no disrespect as I would suppose thirty year old pumps are not their bread and butter. What was the original problem, blown seal or?
John Deere says front pump is dumpin oil out of it purdy fast..thats where the case pressure is at...it makes bad noise when u try to operate it and it has blowed 2 seals out of it!!!they dont know why so i headed there saturday to get it.
If it was me I would suggest they recruit some hydraulic techs and politely refuse to pay the bill...
before you replace any pump you must pressure test it.
I picked up machine saturday and no 1 was there...almost didnt get it loaded..worse shape now than what it was before...boy was i pissed but ima call cooperate office bout this...i should have left it but month later they cant fix it nor tell me whats wrong with it...says it might have a crack somewhere in the center section that supplies the oil to both pumps..hmmmm ..i would think that if u take it apart and look at it would would be able to see or find the crack or cracks in it ..and also rgl726 it has been pressure tested and both pumps have more than plenty of pressure it just has extremely too much case pressure on the front part of the pump!!..PS...I aint paying not 1 red frickin cent to them!!!!
well I found the problem with the pump...too much play in it...how i figured this out is when i picked machine up it was worse than it was before and i remembered they said they shaved a plate down to see if it was warped or something..so i thought now thats got to be the problem its not sealing up tight enough inside so thats the cause of the case pressure....there are some round plates inside of it ..wear plates i guess...they wore down but couldnt see with the eye...so this machine shop down the road here with a cnc machine cut some new plates out and made them alittle bit thicker and it seemed to help it alot...so he is gonna cut a couple more and make them alittle bigger and that should take the rest of the play out!!!...figured this out on my own and ya would think that john deere would have know that or figured it out!!...what a waste of time and money!!...thanks!!
