Hi all, hoping somebody out there can help. My Ex60-2 has developed the following problem, from start up and when cold the all functions work spot on slewing is fine smooth and fast, digging power is good, tracking is even and as powerful as normal, all modes and setting function fine, tracking speeds and digging power I, L, E, P etc. however after 15-20 mins the digging and slewing become slow and weak , if you select (P) mode it is marginally better, but hyd oil seems to be getting very hot , the tracking remains good, it is even and has same power as always , (not sure if it psychological or not but could be slightly sharper) the digging and slewing drop right away though. if i leave it for about 2-3 hours it all comes back and functions well again , then just as before 15-20 mins all digging and slewing drop away, while tracking remains good. any idea please?
Good day Tony We suggest you check the pilot pressure with low engine revolutions and warm fluid, if we can help further please email at [email protected] Kind regards Uffex
Thank you, a local plant dealer suggested the same thing, I am hoping you both may be right, the worry for me is at least 2 other people have said it will be the main pump, the digger is used in woodland in North Devon on a hobby basis and when people start talking about main pumps and prices in region of £2k min it causes panic. I am based in Salisbury and have no equipment to test pilot pressure so am hoping to find a good honest fitter in the North Devon area who will take a look, I guess Lincoln is a bit far really. to be honest I have good mechanical knowledge on Engines, precision machining, fabrication and basic hydraulics but digger systems etc with pilot pressures and solenoids I really do not understand, what is and why would pilot pressure affect this and why does it only happen when hot. thank you again and I may well drop you a line. all the best Tony
Good day Tony Thanks for the reply, if you visit excatech.com use the "How 2" library there is full instructions on checking pilot pressure and its free. Kind regards Uffex
No expert, but it seems to me that if the main pump was going away your tracking, which requires very high volume, would be the most affected part of the system.
Hi All, had the mechanic man in Thursday, fingers crossed it looks as though the pilot circuit was blocking in the filter when hot and therefore not enough pressure on the main valve. main pump pressure was spot on hot or cold, however pilot circuit pressure dropped right away when warm. chap is going to replace filter and tidy a few other jobs for me and hopefully she will be back good as new again. thanks again to UFFEX with being spot on in their diagnosis and to Wilko for keeping me positive regards the main pump.
