Hello first post on here thanks in advance =) Im working on a final for a unusual hitachi crane, same as a Ex60 but metal tracks. The brake seal is blown, and it was leaking hydraulic from the case, (between housing and holder, behind the sprocket. So i have it torn down, and it looks like i need to get the bearing nut off (with a "special tool") and the knock pin is retaining it. The duo cone seal is what im after, hope that's the right term. Any advice is appreciated, also does anyone know a source for these seals?? Dealer here cant find Ex60lct in the computer =p
You can make your own tool for the bearing nut. For the o ring you can use o ring cord i think its 15mm and joint it with cyano acrelate. Hope this helps
Thanks for the tip rgl Do i drill this pin, torch it, or does it come out somehow?
Hammer the pin push in until it clears the bearing nut.
Can someone let me contact forum member "cps" i read in another thread he had Hitachi seals
Hi there cr, first off you do not need to strip the whole f/d down to replace the brake seals! If you remove the motor from the f/d ( there's a row of Allen head blots that holds it on at the back of drive) you will see a bevel washer/spring and behind that is the brake piston! You will see an oil port, if you pressurise this will air the piston will pop out ok! As for the seals I can supply them no problem, if you want to contact me direct feel free to email me at [email protected] Hope this helps, talk soon Aiden
This forum is fantastic! thank you!
