hi, i am dealing with a problem of engine gets loading of a hitachi landy 120-2 excavator of my friend, even stops when operating conrol levers. this has happened suddenly. so can any one help me to find possible causes for this kind of fault and what are the things should i check ? (rpm sensor or pump solenoid or etc.) still i did not get the serial number yet. and can i refer the EX 200-2 excavator's technical manual to get some help on this issue ? i am familiar with caterpillar excavators but not with hitachi. so if some one know the reasons please help me. thank you.
First thing to check are all the fuses.
Sir, thank you for your reply.
Hello everyone, I solved the problem of this hitachi excavator. Problem was one of the pump control solenoid valve was faulty. We replaced it and then engine loading issue was solved. Thanks goes to "Lachau" Sir as well for helping me on this.
One last thing, I would like to know whether is there a way to access machine's data mode using monitor panel instead of using Dr. EX ?
There is no way!!! We have to use diagnostic tool Dr.EX !!! First Version of Dr.EX is PALM type!! The newer Version is Dr.ZX (this type can diagnostic EX...model also). And the newest version is MPDr. = Maintenance Pro Doctor. This diagnostic tool is a collaboration between two companies Hitachi and John Deere, so it can be used for Hitachi machines as well as John Deere machines.

Sir, This is a explanation I saw from another thread "If you go to section 7, page T07-02-06 there is a picture of the Dr ZX connector and the machine connector. Looking into the machine connector, if you short the 2 terminals on the right together (#2 and #4) and then key on, the blink light on the PVC will flash codes if there are any (codes will be either single digit or 2 digits). If no codes the PVC light will remain off. Fault codes can be found beginning on page T07-03-03." If you can please explain it little bit to me. Because I don't have clear idea of this. By doing as above mentioned will I be able to see the fault codes on monitor Or does it means something else ?
You will see the light on the Pump and Valve Controller (behind the seat under the plastic) blink the codes. Nothing on the monitor will give you any indication of codes, faults or readings of any kind.
Thanx a lot for your informations Sir. It will help me a lot. Are those codes are real time ones or stored codes. If stored codes also show up is there a way to identify prevailing fault codes only at that time ? If a problem is solved is that fault code clear automatically?
Yes, I think so. Lachau will probably confirm that. The blinking codes I believe are active codes only.
Yeah, If a Diagnostic Computer is not available, use a jumper wire on the machines diagnostic connector which will allow a light to flash on the PVC. The number of ’flashes’ is the fault code for that problem. It means those are real time error codes.
Thanx for your informations Sir. If there are more codes than one is there a time gap for flashes between each fault code ? Or how we can identify each fault codes separately?
See attached image below for more details.
Superb explanation Sir.We are very much thankful to you. This information will be helpful to many of us.
