HITACHI UHO 62

Just a query. I have a hitachi uho 62. She is an old machine but she serves me very well. In the last week 2 of the metal hydraulic pipes going to the track motors have developed small holes in them. Just wondering if it is a big job to replace them with new flexible hoses. I have covers off and just wondering where they go when they go into undercarriage of the machine. Thanks in advance

The propel pipes go to the rotary manifold mounted in the dead center of the track frame. The only issue you will have converting the pipes to hoses is figuring out what hose fittings/ hydraulic adapters will be required . Which of the pipes are leaking the small diameter pipes (case drain/ brake) ,the larger diameter high pressure lines or one of each ? . See propel piping screenshot from a AVSpare online UH062 parts catalog below.

Yeah it is one of the small ones and one of the bigger ones. Can they be replaced by new flexible pipes

Yes they can be replaced with hoses. Like I mentioned earlier, the only issue you will have is figuring out what hose fittings/ hydraulic adapters will be required . A good hydraulics supply shop can help figure all that out.

Just a word of caution, they put hard lines in for a reason. If you can, you would probably be better served, replacing with hard lines, if they are available and a reasonable cost. If not then, yes flexible hydraulic hose would work but make sure wherever they are clamped, figure something out that stop the vibration.
