Anyone know how to load a JI Case 24C loader that does not run. Not sure how to supply air brakes with aux. air to pull this machine on a rgn trailer. Open to any ideas. Thank You.
Should have a standard brake chamber like what is on trucks. Just find a couple of cage bolts and tighten them down until the brakes are released. Or pull the clevis pins on the chamber and that should also release them but if the brake is applied there will be quite a bit of tension on the pins. If all else fails and this is a parts machine or something take a torch to the threaded rod coming out of the chamber Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
It goes with out say I'm sure but I'll say it anyhow! Make sure the machine is blocked from moving before doing any of the above.
The machine has disc brakes, air over hyd. You will only need to release the parking brake chamber on the front of the trans. If it is a military machine it should have auxiliary steer. If it is intact engine/trans rad/ hyd I would carry two group 31 battery's to steer it with, carry a hundred foot 3/8 air line and hook into the air tank on the rt side frame and air the system up off the gland on the road tractor, should be able to release the brake chamber and maybe have some brakes. You could also do a short line from the brake chamber with the male quick connect to the female end air hose supply, this way you can unhook and bleed the chamber to set the parking brake if needed quickly. Or put pressure to the chamber and remove the clevis pin (you have no parking brake at all). The thing about the w24 machines is they are tall depending on the tire size, you will need to put a tape on it to check you height when loaded on the trailer. Be care full not to step on either brake pedal before moving them by hand with some lube if your going to air the system up, if you push them down hard with your foot they may stay down and stick, you may have to take a brake line loose at the front and rear axle then to move it. Be careful loading and unloading like said that it does not get away from you like said.
