i got a used mono pedal assembly and it flowes better when i crack lines open now i see fluid both rev and forth but its something else wrong its in forward gear always now....remeber drive shaft broke( it ran great before) and broke hit spring part of pedal and snapped it........the guys at piemount fork lifts telling me trans forward disc are locked ........... ok i said why did it move before in rev and now .. only thing he could say was he was 75 percent sure ... check pressure and thats all ....*** ....atco i may need your number to call or anyone here that has worked on a hyster 300....im grey headed enough and balding
Sorry to hear your pain bro, that thing is driving you crazy! It' been a long time since I've worked on one of those mono pedals. What's that thing have; a supply line going to the mono pedal valve, then a line going to fwd and a line going to rev? Maybe a 4th "return" line as well?
Yes 3 lines supply , fwd and rev
Hmm, just 3 lines eh. Reckon you could disconnect the line going to fwd drive, plug the line and cap the fitting on the pedal, now see if you get reverse. Might even switch the fwd/rev hose connections to the pedal, see if it then stays in fwd only.
i switched the fwd and rev still forward only ,.....
Hmm, that don't sound good. Sounds like it's in the tranny. If you were in fwd at the time when drive shaft came out, it may have put some extreme stress on tranny shaft as it was busting loose. Could have bent something about the fwd clutch pack to where now it won't release. If they're designed like most other clutch packs, it's kept released by springs. You engage a clutch pack by applying fluid pressure to a piston plate, this compresses the springs and mashes the clutch disks and plates together engaging the clutch pack. Take the fluid pressure away, the spings seperate the disks and plates. If it won't do this, there's something wrong in there. Gotta say though, can't say for sure that's how your unit works, just don't know how it's built.
grrrrrrrrrrr yeah i got to look at it better , guy from piedmont folk tolded me it had a control valve , when i get a chance im going to pull it down its located on pump side of trans
That sounds like a good place to start. Hope you have some luck with it.
yeah thanks been a rough week at work ... i have a michigan L70 thats not charging and the alt and batts are good .... a barko 160 knuckle boom loader that decided to break 8 bolts on turn table .. chipper decided to crash today ..oh a L120 b wish bone pin came out bent hydrlic cyclinder shaft
TrueCountry if it makes you feel any better, I lost an engine in a dump truck 7 1/2 hours into its 8 hour day. Something let loose in it & it just decided to loose oil pressure & quit. It's not just you...
Auction been there too cummins spun two rod bearings 6 months ago due to oil pump the gear was pressed on it decided to slip off ..... 2 days and plenty of emery cloth got back to ruuning plus new oil pump ...lol then operator fail to tell me starter was disengeing sometimes and burnt the engine compartment up ..............lolololololl
Do you have neutral. If no nuetral and it will go in reverse but not forward, more likely reverse clutch locked up, then when you put it in forward and reverse is locked up you go nowhere because forward and reverse are fighting each other. Again, if you have a locked up directional clutch, you shouldn't be able to get neutral.
ok got time to hyster today oh ive nicked named her Big Ugly .. any way i did a pressure gauge test and wow it went into reverse and i moved 30 feet pressure was 100psi so i undid gauge and tested other line moved forward 30 feet 100psi ... so im thinking blockage in control valve so i started tearing it down i will get to see more tomorrow.... but question if it moves rev and forward now could it still be clutch packs....
Typical clutch packs only have one of two things that can cause them to not work. 1) Friction material is worn away which causes them to slip or not pull, and 2) piston seals blown causing it to not be able to build fluid pressure for piston to overcome clutch release springs and engage clutch pack. In either case, they just don't fix themselves. Aside from these, problems like you're having typically are on the control side of things.
Thanks ATCO i was thinking the same thing ... i havent worked on any transmissions in my life but when it moved in rev i was like Damn cant be clutch packs but im gooing to ask the pros at Heavy Equipment ....I,m going to take pics tomorrow
