Hi I recently purchased an International 560 loader with an IH817C bad engine. It has a broken timing gear which sheared the key on the crankshaft and bent several valves and pushrods. I'm finding parts are scarse or non existent. Gaskets are very expensive. Is a Cummins a good option. Could a 855 block be put in that or is it adaptable. Would the bell housing from the Cummins fit the IH. Also would the splined drive plate torque from the IH bolt up to the Cummins flywheel. Any thoughts or information on this would be appreciated !
The later 560s had the K series Cummins installed. I don't know what the differences were other than engine mounts and hose connections and stuff. It is worth looking into though if you really have to get this thing running again.
