Anybody buy online from Iron planet auction? Good or Bad?
Afternoon, I purchased my old Cat. 931b from them, everything went smoothly, I knew when i paid a cheep price that i would have a lot of repair, and the Cat was running but rough. Just be sure that you can close in a few days, and then pick up soon after. They are good about stay on top of the transaction and easy to get up with, Also you need register with them to bid. Good luck, i have seen some perty good deal on the site.
Close to 50 items with them. Nothing but good to say; 100% better than Ritchie Bros.
No problems. Customer service much better than RBA.
ditto
Be careful Iron Planet policy change. We have purchased lots of equipment and are starting to have problems recently with equipment not coming with keys which poses a big problem for the shipping company if they have to offload onto another truck. Not to mention the surprise you get when the equipment arrives with no key. We have had to send truck drivers in taxi cabs to dealerships looking for new keys, calling locksmiths - all at our expense. Some newer equipment has custom keys and microchips. Iron Planet has put in the small print that they are not responsible for keys. This can become a big (and expensive) issue very quickly in terms of freight delays and extra transport problems. Even with the Ironclad Guarantee it doesn't mean that you'll actually be able to start your equipment after it's been loaded on your trailer. We've talked to Iron Planet and they don't seem to care.
