Jcb 208s (1cx)

Wondering what happened to my beloved machine, a JCB 208s. The backhoe won't rotate . . . only between the twelve o'clock and the three o'clock position. I backed into a tree stump, and it hasn't been the same since. Would this be a hydraulic issue, or is there something smashed up inside the kingpin area. Seems like quite a job to disassemble that entire area. Would appreciate any ideas and suggestions fom JCB owners/operators. Thanks in advance . . . Laraganjack.

this is a hydraulic problem. When you hit the tree stump fluid must have been forced past some ram seals causing a blowout of that seal.Without knowing more that is my idea, hope this helps

Could be something broken internally. That swing/slew mechanism works much like a worm gear. there is a vertical shaft with a sproket and a horizontal rod that has teeth to accept the sproket. On each end of the horizontal rod, there is a cylinder (more like a brake caliper cylinder than a standard rod/barrel type) that pushes either direction. As the cylinder pushes, the worm gear rotates the boom. Hope this makes some sense. So I guess you could have busted one of the teeth in the worm gear setup which is restricting your movement? Just some suggestions. Either way, I don't think that mechanism is too terribly complicated.
