JCB 214-4 backhoe lift cylinder, can't get nut off that holds the piston onto the shaft. Tried 1000 ft. pounds. Is nut left hand thread or could it be pinned? Please, any help.
It may have red loctite on the threads. Apply a lot of heat to melt the loctite.
I had to take one of them on my old Case to a large truck shop. They took one of their large impact guns and after a few hits it came right off. Charged me $20.
Check shop manual for your machine. JCB often has a dowel pinning the nut to the ram shaft.
Probably the dowel pin, under the guide ring.
Found it under seal. Nut came right off. Thank you LN Pipeline and AusDave.
