One of the drive motors is very lazy when going backwards, will hardly move now, but when i use the slew it gives the motor more speed. When going forward the same motor is a lot better, not quit as fast as the opposite side motor which is good (has been replaced at some time) any tests i can do to verify that it is the motor and not something else? any feedback will be much appreciated Andrew
Good day diesle1234 I suggest you blank the two feed lines to the motor with a pressure gauge and compare forward & backward operation, if its the same the problem is at the motor (may be a shock valve) if not the problem is either the main valve of rotary joint. If you can take a pic of the motor and email to [email protected] we will try to help more. Kind regards Uffex
Down on pressure on one line, may take the rotary joint out and change the seals, looks very tight for space to get the valve out. May take the slew gearbox out too as it leaks like a sieve or could i just force grease inside it or is this a bad idea, only does 100 hrs a year round the farm ps thankyou for your reply uffex Regards Andrew
Good day Andrew I do not know how successful filling the slew transmission with grease may be, most that leak out from the bottom indicate an impending bearing failure. Regarding the original issue may I suggest if you make the same pressure check at the valve chest may save you unnecessary work and confirm where the problem is.
