Our 544C has a hard brake pedal when cold. When we leave inside in heated shop it is fine. When out side and cold we can take a torch and lightly heat the brake valve and brakes work until cold again. Sounds like the brake valve is bad. As soon as it gets cold, hard pedal and no brakes again.
