Perhaps the adjuster valve is loose. This is the valve the zerk is attached to.

also check that grease is not escaping... if grease is escaping. you could have a damaged seal. also check if tension cylinder is bloated or warped. if warped, the tensioner needs to be replaced.

thanks for the info on what else to check. I also have a grease zert on the bucket that wont take grease either. took the zert off and made sure grease was flowing through it. any ideas on how to get grease into it ? it greases one of the pins for the bucket. thanks.....barney

slacken grease fitting and push idler in a bit and try pumping it back out seals can stick to the cylinder

we had two track adjusters on a Kobelco 235SRLC that wouldn't take grease. Pulled the fitting out and we could pump grease through it. After monkeying with it a couple times we noticed that it would take about 3 pumps from the gun and then plug up. Ended up replacing the fitting to make it work. Had a pin on a WA250 loader that wouldn't take grease at all. Ended up pulling the zerk and using brake cleaner and a bore brush to clean it out so it would take grease
