JD- electrical connection on loader valve?

Late 90's JD 310-SE backhoe, looking in battery box and found a electrical connection laying next to loader valves. It appears to plug in to the end of one of the loader valves. Question is what does it control. Looked at catalog JD-2574 just call the part a magnet AT196246 and looks a little different that what is on this unit. The main problem with this unit is oil is foaming and doesn't have hyd pressure for any function and steering. cleaned reservoir tank, changed filter, and oil no leaks check oil hose to tank not collapsing no apparent leaks. Took main hyd. off took to hyd shop was told he was sure pump was ok, input seal dry coupling good, after reading some post was wondering if destroke valve maybe stuck, not letting pump build pressure. guessing valve has a spring to return to make pressure when solenoid isn't energized during starting. Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

The electrical connection should be connected to the end of the loader bucket spool. It powers your return to dig function. ( to set th loader bucket level after you have dumped) Yes there is a magnet in a cylinder on your loader valve. For the foaming problem, I would do a close inspection of all the hoses and connections on the suction line between hydo tank and pump. May have a worn or cracked hose, loose clamp or bad o-ring. Air can leak in even if oil is not leaking out.

Thanks Deon for your reply, much appreciated. This confirms my best guess, that this solenoid worked in conjunction with the electrical switch on the loader boom for the return to dig function. Could anyone tell me about my guess on the pump destroke valve is correct or totally wrong on it's function that it is actuated by 12volts to the coil while the starter is energized,as for a pressure relieve while cranking the engine. If so is it returned by a spring so pump then produce pressure?
