Machine sat about 3 years was running fine when parked. 4 cylinder yanmar. Good fuel flow into pump and out return. Shut off is operating correctly externally. My question is can rack be persuaded with out removing pump. And if not whats the procedure to remove pump. Thanks for your time.
You can remove the shut off solenoid on the back of the governor, its just 2 screws, to eliminate the s/o not working. its very common for that sol. to burn up and need replacing. You can remove the side cover to persuade the rack to move.. GENTLY move it back and forth w/ a screwdriver. IT HELPS if the engine is cranking over, while giving the rack, the ol' back and forth.. spray it down w/ some penetrating oil and go to town.. you'll get it.. IF you find you HAVE TO pull the pump, send me an email..
The side cover screws are TIGHT.. your going to need a hand impact driver and a small screwdriver bit. the screws are soft so don't round the heads. Use the correct size bit.!!
Thank you pump guy right on screws are the worst part in frame there's only 2.5 inches snap on stubby wouldn't fit no way for impact tried #2 bit on racket with pry bar vice grips you name it. Good old chisel and punch got them. Rack was frozen good took an hour of back and forth with blaster but shes loose as a goose verified shut worked cracked injectors good fuel with shut off active no fuel with shut odd denergized works good now thanks again pump guy. Oh and I told customer run it few hours and change oil.
Happy to help.. ALWAYS nice to hear of a success story.. thanks for checking back in.. I think its KOOL as hell, we can sit in our living rooms and fix a machine that's 1200 miles away.!!!!
