My excavator leaks clear hydraulic fluid from the swing area. What is causing this. I do think the swing bearing is going out but it should not affect the hydraulic fluid.
Check the swing gearbox level is not overfull with hydraulic fluid which would suggest that the swing motor is leaking into the gearbox and may have blown the gearbox seal. otherwise the center joint upper seals may be leaking.
More than likely your rotary manifold is leaking and needs to be resealed. What KOBE STEEL said is possible but most times it's the rotary.
