John Deere 450B transmission

I have a 450B John Deere dozer transmission that is not engaging... It will go into reverse but will not move forwards, it was working fine but slow to engage but once it engaged it locked up just fine... Checked the fluid level and it's OK... Could this have something to do with the electrical device that is on the side of the transmission where the shaft is? And yes, this is a new machine to me....

I think the only thing electrical on a 450B trans. would be a neutral start safety switch. I could be wrong though. Hopefully someone like mg will see this.

Forward has two ranges, high and low. There quadrant the shifter handle is in should be marked H-L-R. See if it will pull in either forward range. The switch on the side of the case is the neutral start switch. If it won't pull in either forward range but pulls in reverse you probably have clutch pack problems. You can check the H-L-R pressure by removing a plug on the top cover that's right between the steering handles. Remove the big plug and there's a 1/8th'' pipe plug in the test port. The pressure should be 185PSI in neutral and all three ranges.

Does anyone possibly have a manual in digital format that they would share for a 550 john deere dozer from the late 70's?
